J586 Afrika Tikkun

Afrika Tikkun has developed projects that would assist disadvantaged and impoverished communities in a variety of ways in the following areas of need:

  • Preschool education
  • Day care of children for the elderly
  • Primary health care and support with the emphasis on assistance to HIV/AIDS affected patients and their families
  • Home economic skills training including computer literacy and instructor training
  • Community development for adults and children
  • Reaction to emergency situations

There is a need for programs that will aim at building capacity, stability and security among the residents. The challenge of reaching all the disadvantaged people of South Africa remains a difficult one, and need all the resources, both human and financial to address these challenging tasks.

Afrika Tikkun’s future goals for this project are to build community infrastructure in Peri-Urban Townships of South Africa, provide multifaceted comprehensive care and support of orphans and vulnerable children and to provide support to poverty stricken families.
